Garlic Butter Oven Baked Fish

  • 4 white fish fillets (such as flounder)

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (about 1/2 a lemon)

  • 1 tsp lemon zest

  • 1⁄2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • 1⁄4 tsp black pepper

  • 1⁄4 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it with a bit of melted butter.

  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, pepper, and paprika. Whisk until fully blended.

  • Pat the tilapia fillets dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture. Place the fillets in the prepared baking dish in a single layer.

  • Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the tilapia fillets, ensuring that each fillet is well coated. Use a brush or spoon to spread it evenly if needed.

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 10–12 minutes, or until the tilapia flakes easily with a fork and is opaque in the center. Cooking time may vary slightly depending on the thickness of the fillets, so check for doneness around the 10-minute mark.

  • For a golden finish, switch the oven to broil mode for the last 1–2 minutes. Keep a close eye to avoid overcooking.

  • Remove the tilapia from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve with lemon wedges for an extra burst of citrus.
